Fitness School Challenge

The 2019 Fitness School Challenge is the culminating event to Operation Tone-Up program. Operation Tone-Up is dedicated to fighting childhood obesity by providing evidence-based, nutrient-smart lessons combined with structured exercise. The Operation Tone-Up Online program has been offered free to West Virginia classroom teachers for the past three years. The 2019 WV Fittest School Challenge will be held March 22nd at the WV Culture Center. The winning team will be the Fittest School in WV. Operation Tone-up puts “health first” to prevent child obesity through evidence based nutrition and exercise.  Improved health leads to increased attendance at an average of 3.2 days per semester. The Operation Tone Up report regarding pre and post testing shows improved heart rate, blood pressure, endurance, and nutritional knowledge for West Virginia students.
