Junior Cast Iron Cook-Off

The Junior Cast Iron Cook-Off is a partnership among ProStart, Agriculture, Child Nutrition and the Collaborative for the 21st Century Appalachia. The cook-off provides a unique opportunity to explore our culinary heritage and promote regional tourism by showcasing our ProStart programs. The Collaborative supports:
- The region’s food products and food producers.
- Culinary talent of tomorrow by providing learning opportunities.
- Fostering young people’s interest in pursuing culinary careers.
- Farm To School.
This year’s cook-off is in conjunction with the Small Farms Conference.
