The Simulated Workplace program creates high-quality business and industry learning environments that empowers nearly 24,000 students to take ownership of their education and future career success. The Office of Governor’s Economic Initiatives oversees and supports training opportunities and on-site reviews for our 1,200 Simulated Workplace companies across the state.

B&I Reviews are used by all Simulated Workplace stakeholders to ensure companies are maintaining high-quality standards as well as a method to ensure technical assistance needs are being met.

*Note: A new B&I platform is being developed via NOCTI and will be released soon. Schools will be notified when available.

B&I Requirements for Data Profile:

  • CTE Director/Administrator – 1 per company per year

  • CTE Instructors – 2 per company per year

  • CTE Student Leaders – 2 per company per year

  • Advisory Council Member – 1 per company per year

  • WVDE Internal Reviewer – 1 per company every 3 years

Simulated Workplace Skype sessions are offered Tuesday and Thursdays during 5 time slots per day. The sessions are designed and held on request and delivered to individual companies or whole corporations. When student leaders/instructors sign up for virtual trainings, a confirmation email will be sent within 24 hours with a link to the virtual session.  Each session will be 25-30 minutes.  All sessions must be requested one week in advance.
