Description: Specialists in the fields of social neuroscience and trauma-informed practices confirm what we know to be true: students are more open to learning when they are emotionally and physically regulated, feel connected to others and have opportunities for meaningful engagement. Using techniques such as morning meetings, participants will learn ways to build a positive climate and culture, even in non-traditional settings. This module will prepare the elementary educator for creating an engaging environment for students to thrive academically and socially.

Description: This 30-minute informational session will provide educators an overview of the WV Tiered System of Support (WVTSS). Participants will identify the three tiers of the system (Universal, Targeted, and Intensive), and how student academics, behavior, and mental health can be addressed at each tier.
