About Us

The Office of Child Nutrition, in partnership with the United States Department of Agriculture, administers federal school nutrition programs – which include the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, Child and Adult Care Food Program, and the Summer Food Service Program.  The West Virginia Department of Education is dedicated to ensuring that all children have access to nutritious meals that support their well-being and readiness for learning.

West Virginia submission seeking waiver approval in order to administer the Summer EBT as planned, under FNS authority

The West Virginia Department of Education is requesting specific program requirements to be waived (include statutory and regulatory citations). [Section 12(l)(2)(A)(i) of the NSLA]:

  • 7 CFR 226.16(d)(4)(iii) Frequency and type of required reviews
  • Specifically that all three reviews must be conducted on-site
