School Transportation

The Office of School Transportation provides guidelines to county school bus transportation systems to ensure safe, high quality programs for the students transported to the public schools in West Virginia. The office is responsible for oversight of the school bus operators training programs, certification and re-certification of school bus operators as well as school bus operator trainers and examiners in West Virginia. The WVDE school bus inspectors perform annual statewide school bus safety inspections and oversee maintenance of the school buses in the state. The office provides professional learning opportunities and technical assistance to all state school bus transportation systems.
