Professional Learning Framework

The Professional Learning Framework offered by the WVDE Office of Educator Preparation (OEP) provides a flexible and comprehensive approach to ongoing professional development for educators. A range of OEP professional learning options ensures that county leaders have access to multiple ways to facilitate continual professional growth for teachers at all stages of their careers.
This framework includes:
- Virtual Sessions, giving educators convenient access to professional learning regardless of their location.
- In-person Sessions, providing opportunities for hands-on learning, collaboration, and networking with peers and experts in the field.
Recognizing the unique needs of individual school districts, OEP customizes sessions to meet the specific goals and challenges of each county. This ensures that professional learning is relevant and impactful. Teacher Academy
Assists new educators through in-person training or self-paced online courses via WV Learns and assists counties in fulfilling the requirements of their Beginning Educator Induction programs.
Mentor Training
Equips teacher mentors with skills to support new educators and supports counties in fulfilling their mentor requirements.
National Board Certification
Supports teachers pursuing National Board Certification with training, mentor or cohort support, and financial incentives to aid their success.
