Applications Accepted for Governor’s School of Entrepreneurship

The West Virginia Department of Education has extended the application period for the Governor’s School of Entrepreneurship to May 9, 2025. Students currently in Grades 9 -12 can apply for this residential, summer program hosted by Marshall University (July 11 - 20, 2025).

WV Dept. of Education Celebrates Student Excellence During State Social Studies Fair

The West Virginia Department of Education welcomed 540 students to the 2025 West Virginia State Social Studies Fair in Charleston. Students in Grades 3-12 representing 43 counties submitted 349 projects showcasing individual and group work.

The West Virginia Board of Education welcomed the 2025 class of West Virginia Exemplary Practice Schools. This program, created by the West Virginia Department of Education in 2024, recognizes schools that illustrate outstanding school practices that positively impact student outcomes.
