Contractor/Volunteer or Other School Personnel Permit

Application

To apply, you must:

• Be a U.S. citizen or hold eligible documents (Policy 5202, Minimum Requirements for the Licensure of Professional/Paraprofessional Personnel and Advanced Salary Classifications)
• Have recommendation from the county Superintendent
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Have a satisfactory background check
  • The West Virginia State Police analyze fingerprints for criminal history through the central abuse registry. Fingerprints are then sent to the FBI for a national 
    criminal history check.
  • Pursuant to W. Va. Code §18A-3-2a and §18A-3-10, an application can be denied based on data in these records.

Renewal

This permit is valid for one (1) year after renewal and can be renewed again. Renewal follows the same satisfactory background check requirements as the initial application.
