Use this form to receive a restricted content endorsement for Autism if you hold a Special Education endorsement, and have an offer of employment in a position requiring Autism.
Be employed in a West Virginia public school system
Have recommendation from the county Superintendent
Receive an offer of full-time employment in a position requiring Autism certification where no fully certified candidate has applied
Hold a valid West Virginia Professional Teaching Certificate with a Special Education endorsement
Be enrolled in six (6) hours of coursework in Autism at an accredited college or university that offers the coursework
Renewal Application
To renew, you must:
Have continued employment in the position requiring Autism certification
Have completed at least three (3) hours of Autism coursework with a 3.0 GPA or higher
Have a recommendation of the county Superintendent
Submit grade printout or unofficial transcripts for the renewal coursework
