National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) Recognition
Summary of Requirements
If you are a certified educator employed in a West Virginia public school and have achieved National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) Certification, use Form 45 to receive official recognition and/or apply for the associated state salary supplement.
Hold certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS)
Have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree
Hold a valid West Virginia Professional Teaching Certificate
Be an employee of the West Virginia public school system for the NBPTS state salary supplement
Employment is not required for recognition only of NBPTS certification
NBPTS Recognition is valid up to 5 years as determined by the expiration date on the NBPTS certificate.
