The Division of District and School Accountability provides various supports such as professional development, special circumstance reviews and technical assistance to boards of education, central offices, and schools. This division also houses charter school support and the school calendar.

Oversight of the West Virginia Accountability System
Issuing an annual Approval Status and Accreditation Report
Informs state and local decision making to address the identified targets for growth and improvement.
Management of test development, administration, scoring and reporting of results for the statewide comprehensive assessment program. This includes:
West Virginia General Summative Assessment for grades 3-8
