Teachers employed by a community partner must hold either a bachelors in preschool education, early education, preschool special needs or a permanent or temporary Community Lead Teacher Authorization. Individuals who hold a temporary authorization must renew their authorization annually by completing 6 hours (2 courses).

If you are not a full-time public school employee in West Virginia, then a WVLearns account must be created. You will need to complete the following registration form to be approved for a new account. You must complete the registration form for a new account to be initiated. All registration information for new accounts will be verified. New accounts will be processed then you will receive information regarding your new account via email. You may register for a WVLearns course after you have completed instructions provided in the new account email.
Application for Community Program Authorization (Form 50) – use this form when applying for the permanent, the initial, or to renew certification to teach in a partnership between a local school system and a community PK program. This credential is required when the teacher does not hold a valid WV Professional Teaching Certificate endorsed for PK.
