West Virginia Secondary Transition Conference

The Statewide Secondary Transition Conference is an exciting event that helps students with disabilities get ready for life after high school. It brings together teachers, families, students, and supporters to share ideas and learn about ways to help students succeed in college, work, and living on their own.

At the conference, people can attend sessions led by experts on topics like planning for the future, learning job skills, understanding legal rights, and making choices for themselves. These sessions are designed to meet the needs of students with disabilities ages 14-21.

The event also gives everyone a chance to meet others, build partnerships, and work together to improve outcomes for West Viginia students with disabilities.  For special education staff, the conference offers training and updates on new rules and practices. Parents and students get to talk directly with experts and connect with others going through similar experiences. Advocates can learn new tools and strategies to support their work.

Participants leave the conference inspired, equipped with practical strategies, and better prepared to help students with disabilities thrive in adulthood.
