Simulated Workplace Strategic Plan

The Simulated Workplace has enhanced the quality of instructional delivery of career education.  This classroom environment gives students ownership of their performance. This impacts their educational experience by placing them in a mock workspace in their chosen field. The Simulated Workplace allows local business and industry experts to join onsite review teams that help schools meet workforce needs and expectations. 

Students build leadership skills and confidence through hands-on learning projects and problem-solving. Being assigned career responsibilities, students are more prepared for future opportunities. Students are more than learners - they are team members thinking like employees, solving problems like innovators, and growing to become tomorrow's leaders.

Objectives

The Simulated Workplace was created to 

• Present curriculum in a relevant and purposeful manner
• Place business and industry processes directly into career technical education programs
• Incorporate foundational academic- and career-ready skill sets
• Provide students an understanding of all aspects of an industry or business, and how their individual success leads to company profitability
• Provide each student with an understanding and knowledge of how science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), along with ethics, workplace processes, and behavior, are integral skills to successful employment
