Restricted Clinical Experience Permit

The Restricted Clinical Experience Permit is issued to individuals who do not meet all the requirements for the Clinical Experience Permit and have not passed Praxis content exams. This one (1) year permit must be issued before you participate in the clinical experience. It includes clinical experiences for teachers, administrators and student support personnel.

General Requirements

To apply, you must:

• Be a U.S. citizen or hold eligible documentation (see Policy 5202, Minimum Requirements for the Licensure of Professional/Paraprofessional Personnel and Advanced Salary Classifications)
• Be at least 18 years old
• Be physically, mentally, and emotionally qualified
• Have recommendation from the county Superintendent and designated college or university official

Education Requirements

To apply, you must:

• Be enrolled in good standing in a regionally accredited, in-state or out-of-state program which leads to licensure as a teacher, administrator or student support personnel
• Have a content area GPA of 3.0 or higher
• All required Praxis II Content exams must have been attempted and failed at least twice 
  • This includes each subtest in the Elementary Education Endorsement series.
    • Any remaining subtests not yet passed must also be failed at least two (2) times before a candidate becomes eligible for this permit.
• Be placed on a Focused Support Plan
