Comprehensive Evaluation Report

General Requirements

To convert an Alternative Teaching Certificate to a  Provisional Teaching Certificate, you must have:

• A valid Alternative Teaching Certificate
• A Comprehensive Evaluation Report, which requires:
  • Recommendations from your employing school district superintendent, principal and an additional member of the professional support team.
  • Completion of an approved West Virginia Board of Education county-based Alternative Certification Program.
  • Passing scores on all Praxis exam(s), as required by the West Virginia Board of Education, for the requested endorsement or qualify for exemptions per Policy 5202, Minimum Requirements for the Licensure of Professional/Paraprofessional Personnel and Advanced Salary Classifications
