Adding an Endorsement to a Professional Certificate with IHE Recommendation
Summary of Requirements
Use Form 8 if you are applying to add an additional endorsement to your Professional Teaching, Administrative, or Student Support Certificate based on the completion of coursework at a regionally accredited college or university.
Hold a valid West Virginia Professional Teaching, Administrative, or Student Support Certificate
This does not apply to the Career and Technical Education Certificate.
Completed an Educator Preparation Program (EPP), with a cumulative 2.50 GPA for undergraduate and 3.0 GPA for graduate, in the endorsement area and meet all requirements, including assessment requirements, established in the licensure testing directory
Submit a passing score report on the appropriate content assessment as required by the West Virginia Board of Education (if a content assessment is required).
Note: A candidate holding an endorsement in programmatic levels pre-k or pre-k-k ONLY must meet the minimum proficiency levels for the current professional education assessment or have a minimum of five (5) years full-time teaching experience in a West Virginia public school under that license.
Have recommendation of the county superintendent if employed by a West Virginia county public school system
Your county can submit your official transcript or your college or university can email official transcripts to our office (cert.transcripts.wvde@k12.wv.us). Transcripts must be received from the college or university, and not the applicant.
