Salary Supplement for ASHA, NMCC, WVBEC, NASP, & NBCSN
Summary of Requirements
You can use Form 43 to request a salary supplement if you are employed in the West Virginia public school system and hold advanced certification from one of the following:
The American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA).
The National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC).
The West Virginia Board of Examiners in Counseling (WVBEC).
The National Association of School Psychologists (NASP).
The National Board for Certification of School Nurses.
The salary supplement is $2,500. The number of support staff eligible for the supplement is limited by legislative funding. Recipients are determined based on seniority.
Note: This form can only be submitted between January 1 and September 15 each year. Applications will not be processed until after September 15.
Be a U.S. citizen or hold eligible documentation (see WVBE Policy 5202).
Be Board-certified
Hold a professional student support certificate in the appropriate endorsement area.
Be employed in the West Virginia public school system.
Have recommendation from the county Superintendent.
Application Instructions
Download the application form.
Fill in the applicant information. Work with your employer and your board or association to get the necessary signatures and supporting documents. You must include a copy of your board certificate, board certification card, or other documentation verifying the date of your initial certification and the expiration date.
Pay the application fee online before submitting your application.
Submit your application and all supporting documentation to the Office of Certification. Please mail to the following address:
