Salary Supplement for ASHA, NMCC, WVBEC, NASP, & NBSCN (Renewal)

Summary of Requirements

You can use Form 44 to request a renewal of a salary supplement if you employed in the West Virginia public school system and hold advanced certification from one of the following:

  • The American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • The National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC)
  • The West Virginia Board of Examiners in Counseling (WVBEC)
  • The National Association of School Psychologists (NASP)
  • The National Board for Certification of School Nurses

The salary supplement is $2,500.

Candidate Requirements

To apply, you must:

  • Have previously been approved for this type of salary supplement.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or hold eligible documentation (see WVBE Policy 5202).
  • Be Board-certified.
  • Hold a professional student support certificate in the appropriate endorsement area.
  • Be employed in the West Virginia public school system.
  • Have recommendation from the county Superintendent.

Application Instructions

  2. Fill in the applicant information. Work with your employer and your board or association to get the necessary signatures and supporting documents. 
  3. Pay the application fee online before submitting your application.
  4. Submit your application and all supporting documentation to the Office of Certification. Please mail to the following address:
