The strategic planning process should include input from:
school staff,
families,
community members.
The process is designed to focus the essential work of the cycle of continuous improvement around key areas of need and align with the West Virginia Standards for Effective Schools.
Policy 2322
WVBE Policy 2322 outlines the strategic planning process the school system should implement to improve student performance and address student needs:
Developed collaboratively by a school leadership team, facilitated by the principal;
Includes a comprehensive needs assessment: a) core beliefs and mission; b) data analysis of student performance (across multiple data points); c) priority goals; d) evidence-based strategies, action steps, and professional learning; e) system for monitoring and supporting the plan’s effectiveness
