ESEA, Improvement and Support

The Office of ESEA, Improvement and Support oversees funding for the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA). It also assists with improvement efforts for schools statewide through the West Virginia Standards for Effective Schools Framework. These efforts include:

• School and county strategic planning
• Guidance with federal funds
• Educator growth
• Leadership best practices

Additional responsibilities include:

• Managing county school system funding allocations
• Facilitating dispute resolutions
• Assisting county school systems with meeting program requirements
• Compliance monitoring
• On-site support for schools identified by the Diagnostic Review Process
