Test Preparation Resources

State-approved educator preparation programs provide students with basic skills, content, and classroom knowledge to meet Licensure Testing Directory requirements. Students also have access to the following support resources.

Praxis Tests

Test takers may utilize preparation resources for content assessments which include a free study companion.  When signing up for Praxis exams, test takers will receive access to a practice test. 

American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages

Access the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages website for information on content exams in areas of foreign languages required by the West Virginia Board of Education.

Pearson Assessments

Visit the edTPA website for information about Pearson’s teacher performance assessment. 

All licensure pathways (traditional, county-based alternative, Option 3 and West Virginia Department of Education alternative certification) require that individuals meet testing requirements of the Licensure Testing Directory.
