Project AWARE (Advancing Wellness and Resiliency in Education), a State Education Agency Grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is a 5-year, $9 million award to support comprehensive plans of activities, services and strategies to support the healthy development of school-aged children by addressing trauma, increasing resilience, and fostering positive factors in their lives. The West Virginia Bureau for Behavioral Health (BBH), Marshall University’s Center of Excellence for Recovery and West Virginia University’s Prevention Research Center are the WVDE’s partners on this project.
