Education Impact Award

West Virginia Public Education Consortium

The West Virginia Public Education Consortium (WVPEC) is recognized for its sustained commitment to strengthening public education and supporting educators and students throughout West Virginia. Through initiatives including its STEAM Technical Assistance Center, K-12 Speakers Bureau, Teachers Ascend program and efforts to spark early literacy growth, WPECbrings together education, business and community partners to address challenges and create opportunities across the state's education system. Its work demonstrates that meaningful educational impact extends far beyond the classroom - requiring collaboration, innovation and a long-term commitment to the educators and students who will shape West Virginia's future.

Workforce Development Leadership Award

J.H. Fletcher & Co.

For generations, J.H. Fletcher & Co. has demonstrated that investing in a workforce means investing in people. A West Virginia legacy company with a global footprint, Fletcher has earned an international reputation for innovation, including development of the Fletcher roof bolter that transformed safety and productivity in underground mining. Yet some of the company's most meaningful investments happen much closer to home. Fletcher actively develops and upskills its workforce, partners with organizations including Marshall Advanced Manufacturing Center and local community and technical colleges, and has helped numerous employees continue their education and build new skills. Its commitment demonstrates what workforce development looks like at its best: creating opportunities for people to learn, advance and build lasting careers while ensuring a West Virginia company remains competitive around the world.

Community Impact Award

Moses Toyota

Moses Toyota is recognized for a commitment to community that extends well beyond its business operations. Through support for organizations, events and initiatives throughout West Virginia, Moses has consistently invested in the communities it serves. Its leadership has also helped create new avenues for community engagement, including efforts focused on uplifting women and children and strengthening opportunities for West Virginia families. That commitment reflects an important principle behind the Champions of Learning Awards: strong communities help create strong students, strong families and ultimately a stronger workforce. By using its presence and resources to support the people and organizations around it, Moses Toyota demonstrates the important role West Virginia businesses can play in creating thriving communities.

Youth Opportunity & Innovation Award

Element Federal Credit Union

Element Federal Credit Union is recognized for finding innovative ways to meet young West Virginians where they are and help prepare them for their futures.
Through Element Edge, its youth-focused financial education and banking initiatives, and its support for esports, Element has created opportunities for students to build financial knowledge, explore emerging interests and develop skills that can translate into future education and careers. Element has also provided financial literacy programming to students participating in the West Virginia Chamber Foundation's Jobs for West Virginia's Graduates (JWG) program and hosted the Foundation's West Virginia Civics Bee, demonstrating a willingness not simply to sponsor youth initiatives, but to actively engage in them. That hands-on approach exemplifies the spirit of the Youth Opportunity & Innovation Award: creating new pathways for young people and giving them the knowledge, experiences and confidence to pursue them.
