The West Virginia Department of Education is pleased to offer Advanced Placement (AP) exam fee waivers to qualified West Virginia students. The fee waiver allows students to take AP exams at no cost. Schools must apply for students to receive waivers, and waivers are granted based on an individual student’s financial need. Students qualifying for a test fee waiver will pay $0 for 2026 AP exams.

Approved grant funds will be sent to schools in Spring 2026. Schools use the funding to pay College Board directly. The College Board will send invoices to schools specifying the amount due.
Schools must pay College Board directly utilizing grant funding from West Virginia Department of Education. The College Board will send a bill.
For each student who is eligible for the College Board fee reduction, check the box for Reduced Fee next to their name in the student roster.
For students who are not eligible for the fee reduction, no action is needed.
Indicate only once per student, not for each exam.
Indicate fee reduction status for each student by the time you submit your exam order. If you need more time to verify this information, you can update students’ fee reduction status through AP Registration and Ordering after submitting your exam order, but no later than April 30, 2026 (11:59 p.m. ET).
Access the school’s invoice that is emailed to you after the late-testing administration ends. Invoices may also be accessed and printed through AP Registration and Ordering.
Send payment to College Board no later than June 15, 2026.
