New Hope Pathways Program Fuels Opportunities for Logan County Students
Charleston, W.Va. – Logan County students now have access to high-level careers in the utilities and energy sector through the Hope Pathways program. Starting next school year, students at Ralph R. Willis Career and Technical Education Center (RRW CTE) can earn industry certifications leading to careers after graduation. The effort is a partnership between the West Virginia Board of Education (WVBE), the Department of Education (WVDE), Hope Gas and Logan County Schools. Company representatives and state and congressional leaders joined school officials today in Logan County to make the announcement.
The Hope Pathways program is open to juniors and seniors, and it allows them to explore and prepare for careers close to home. Career Technical Education (CTE) courses, internships, and apprenticeships provide students with hands-on, real-world experiences and ensure they are prepared to enter the workforce with industry-recognized certifications.
Hope Gas understands the importance of creating opportunities in the field. By partnering with public schools, the company opens access to advanced training and work-based learning that helps students build skills directly applicable to high-demand jobs. This creates a clear pathway to employment upon graduation.

With CTE awareness, exploration and engagement available at all grade levels, students have access to greater STEM, hands-on and workforce development opportunities throughout their public education journey. This increases their outlook whether they pursue education, employment or enlistment after graduation.
