Use form 25R to renew your Alternative Teaching Certificate. The Alternative Teaching Certificate allows individuals to teach in an area of critical need and shortage in a West Virginia public school district by authorizing enrollment into a West Virginia Board of Education-approved county-based alternative certification program.
Have received a satisfactory teacher evaluation during the previous validity period
Have made satisfactory progress in the approved program during the previous validity period
Have a recommendation from the county superintendent
