Certification Applications

This permit may be granted only one time to an individual who has been continuously employed for a specific assignment under a First-Class/Full-Time Permit and who has completed all course requirements of the approved program but has not attained the required passing scores on the Praxis content exams.

If you attended an in-state college or university, this certificate allows you to work in West Virginia public schools as a school counselor, school nurse, school psychologist or social services and attendance director.

If you attended an out-of-state college or university, this certificate allows you to work within the West Virginia public school system as a school counselor, school nurse, school psychologist or social services, and attendance director.

If you hold a valid, out-of-state student support license, this certificate allows you to work in the West Virginia public school system as a school counselor, school nurse, school psychologist or social services and attendance director.

The School Nurse Certificate may be issued to an individual who has been employed as a substitute or full-time School Nurse in a county public school
