WVDE WVLearns eLearning will be moving coursework to the Canvas online platform during Summer 2022 while previous coursework on the WVLearns platform is finalized.

The information below provides instructions for WVLearns account creation, out-of-state educator access, WV educator course enrollment and course syllabi, and frequently asked questions and answers.

Account Information

WVDE has moved to a single sign-on process for many of our online initiatives. All West Virginia public school educators, current and past, are to use their login and password associated with their k12.wv.us email account. When in doubt, educators are to contact their county technology coordinator for this information.

If you have never been a West Virginia public school employee, please visit our Certification Portal (https://wveis.k12.wv.us/certportal/) and complete the information requested. The login and password you are assigned will be your WVLearns Canvas credentials.

Out-of-State Residents

A $200.00 registration fee per course is required for all non-West Virginia residents who are not employed by a WV school system. Course registration fees must be received before course enrollment is initiated. Please contact Donna Landin at dlandin@k12.wv.us prior to establishing an account and/or prior to registering for a course.
