Meet the Council Members
Amber Arora
Amber Arora is a sophomore at Cabell Midland High School (Cabell County) where she plays in the school orchestra and competes on the debate and cross-country teams. In her free time, she likes to write and spend time with her dog. She looks forward to working with state education leaders and meeting new people.
Rhaina Botticher
Rhaina Botticher is a senior at Berkeley Springs High School (Morgan County). She values honesty, respect, kindness, equality, and continuous learning. A Golden Horseshoe Award winner, Principal’s Honor Roll student, and Poetry Out Loud semifinalist, Botticher hopes to become a veterinarian and an environmentalist focused on animal rehabilitation, habitat protection, and advocacy for endangered species.
Alexander Dennison
Alexander Dennison is a junior at Braxton County High School where he serves as the Braxton County HOSA-Future Health Professionals president, Pride of Braxton County Color Guard captain, and student body secretary. He is involved in FBLA, Scouting America, his local volunteer fire department, and student council at the local and state levels. He participates in dual-enrollment courses through Glenville State University and is a top-six international HOSA Health Education finalist. He plans to pursue medicine and medical law while continuing to advocate for students.
Hannelore Devine
Hannelore Devine is a junior at North Marion High School. She is the student council president, and she volunteers in her school and her community with local non-profits. Academically, she has competed in math field day and been a regional and state qualifier and participated in her school’s Academic Showdown team. She is a member of the varsity tennis and cross-country teams. Hannelore plans to go into the medical field and is currently exploring med school options on the East Coast so she can be close to her friends and family.
Natalie Farmer
Natalie Farmer is a rising sixth grader at Pikeview Middle School (Mercer County) who enjoys challenging herself both academically and through a variety of extracurricular activities. She is actively involved in soccer, basketball, cross country, and softball, where she is developing strong teamwork, dedication, and leadership skills. Outside of sports, Natalie participates in 4-H, Bible Club, Awanas, SkillsUSA, and is a member of her church youth praise band.
Juliann Gallaher
Juliann Gallaher is a senior honor student at Clay County High School and an active member of TSA, serving as West Virginia TSA state president. Interested in biology, life sciences, and political science, she hopes to pursue law. A proud Appalachian, Gallaher enjoys spending time outdoors with friends, meeting new people, playing guitar, and being with her cat, Maxiene.
Jake Gregg
Jake Gregg is a ninth grader at Spring Valley High School (Wayne County) with interests in STEM, academics, leadership, service, and community involvement. A 2026 Golden Horseshoe winner and Math Field Day participant, he is active in church, volunteering, and several leadership roles. Gregg hopes to continue learning while making a positive impact in his community.
Anthony Hall
Anthony Hall is a senior at Cameron High School (Marshall County) involved in band, football, choir, esports, National Honor Society, and 2026vMountaineer Boys State. A seven-year band member, he is passionate about music and grateful for the support of his family and community. In his free time, he enjoys weightlifting, gaming, and spending time with family and friends.
Ross Pownell
Ross Pownell is an eighth-grade student at Pendleton County Middle High School (PCMHS). He is a member of the PCMS golf team and choir. He has participated in the West Virginia State Science and Social Studies Fairs. His extracurricular activities include 4-H, community theater, and volunteering with Energy Express. He is an avid Lego collector and kayaker.
Lilliana Robinson
Lilliana Robinson is a ninth grader at Capital High School (Kanawha County). She is a member of the River City Youth Ballet Pre-Professional Program, a West Virginia Statewide Afterschool Ambassador, and has participated in the West Virginia Legislature's Page Program. Robinson volunteers with the Kanawha County Public Library and Exceptional Possibilities of West Virginia, participates in the Delta Academy, and previously performed with the Kanawha County Schools Orchestra. She will strive to make a positive impact for students at her school and across West Virginia.
Naim Smith
Naim Smith is a senior at Keyser High School (Mineral County), where he is a member of the varsity tennis team and is the volleyball team manager, Club X president, student council president, and Key Club vice president. He also serves on the Junior CASA board, officiates volleyball for the West Virginia Secondary Schools Activities Commission, and coaches at Queen City Volleyball Club. Smith plans to study biochemistry and psychology before attending medical school to become a plastic surgeon.
Logan West
Logan West is an eighth grader at Tyler Consolidated Middle School (Tyler County). He enjoys sports, including baseball, soccer, and cross country, as well as academics and competitions such as Math Field Day. A National Junior Honor Society inductee, he credits his loving family and supportive teachers for helping him pursue his interests and achievements.
Kailyn Williams
Kailyn Williams is a senior at Richwood High School (Nicholas County). She serves as class president, student body vice president, National Honor Society vice president, and West Virginia State Student Council president. She is also captain of the volleyball, basketball, softball, and the Lumberjack Express Flag Corps. Williams plans to attend WVU to study pre-medicine with a minor in political science. She enjoys poetry, pageants, and volunteering.
Hydee Wykle
Hydee Wykle is a senior at Greenbrier East High School (Greenbrier County), where she is a member of the health care career technical education program. Drawn to leadership, health care, and helping others, she has been involved in HOSA since her freshman year and currently serves as the West Virginia HOSA state president. She is also a two-time state officer. Wykle serves as student body president, member of the National Honor Society, and the Greenbrier East track team.
Angela Yao
Angela Yao is a junior at Morgantown High School (Monongalia County) with interests in leadership, service, education, and public policy. As golf team captain, she has led community service efforts involving her teammates and is researching issues aligned with the Governor’s Grow West Virginia initiative. Through the Super Stars Student Council, she hopes to collaborate with student leaders and support solutions that expand educational opportunities across the state.
