Public Licensure Action

A public database registering any individual who has had actions taken against their license

The State Superintendent of Schools is authorized to issue certificates, permits, and authorizations to applicants who are of a good moral character and are physically, mentally, and emotionally qualified to perform the duties of the positions.

W. Va. Code § 18A-3-6 establishes grounds for revocations, suspensions, and other authorized actions by the State Superintendent of Schools.

The Office of Legal Services investigates reports of allegations of misconduct and criminal charges and, if warranted, presents evidence at a hearing before the Professional Practice Panel of the West Virginia Commission for Professional Teaching Standards or another designee of the State Superintendent.

The Public Employee License Actions is a public database of that registers any individual who has had actions taken against their license.
