Nancy J. White retired from her 36-year career in West Virginia school business as the treasurer of Morgan County Schools in June 2014. During her career, she also worked in the Taylor, Lewis, and Jefferson county school systems, served as president of the West Virginia Association of School Business Officials, and served on the Southeastern Association of School Business Officials (a 12-state regional association).
Nancy remains an active member of the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO), International. Every year, four distinguished ASBO International members are recognized for their commitment and contributions to their districts and the school business profession. In 2014, she was selected to receive the prestigious Eagle Award recognizing lifetime achievement.
Immediately following her retirement from school business, she was selected to serve as the executive director of the Southeastern Association of School Business Officials. She held this position until June 30, 2018.
A native of Grafton, she and her husband David now live in Bridgeport. Together they have three daughters, six grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Nancy was appointed to the West Virginia Board of Education in August 2018 to fill an unexpired term ending November 4, 2022, and was reappointed on January 3, 2023, to a full term ending November 4, 2031.
She served as president of the West Virginia Board of Education from 2024-2025. She is currently serving as the Board's financial officer.
