Event FAQs
As a reminder, attendance at all WVDE trainings is mandatory for site coordinators to receive essential training and enhance professional development. Exemptions will be granted on a case-by-case basis. Please contact your regional specialist and state lead to request an exemption.
The conference will run from Tuesday, July 30, to Thursday, August 1, 2024.

The dress code is business casual/comfortable. It is recommended that you dress in layers as conference room temperatures fluctuate.
Throughout the conference, there will be a resource exhibition showcasing local, state, and national resources. This is a chance to learn about various resources and providers and to network with colleagues from across the state.
Yes, there is a pre-conference workshop titled “Foundations in De-escalation” scheduled for July 30, 2024, at 9:30 AM. This session is designed to accommodate up to 100 participants. Please note that the session is currently fully booked.
We understand that the summer months are typically a time for relaxation and unwinding. However, we do have important updates to share about the upcoming conference. Please check your email periodically to ensure you receive updates about the Student Supports Institute.
Regarding the sharing of materials from conference sessions, it’s at the discretion of the presenter. However, any information intended for site coordinators and county contacts will be uploaded to a conference Team. This Team will be shared after the event’s conclusion, ensuring all relevant materials are accessible to attendees.
