The West Virginia Department of Education (WVDE) has partnered with ParentGuidance.org, a 24/7 online platform designed to support student mental health. It provides coaching, parenting sessions, and access to expert advice for families, including those with students experiencing homelessness. By bridging the gap in mental health resources, ParentGuidance.org empowers families across West Virginia to create a supportive environment for their children.

Definitions
Academic Achievement: Measure of performance on the annual statewide assessments for ELA and mathematics for all students and for each subgroup of students.
Academic Progress: Measure of academic improvement over the course of an academic year, using the previous school year’s WVGSA results as a baseline measure and the current school year’s WVGSA results as the follow-up measure.
Attendance Indicator: Measure of student absences from the instructional environment during the academic year
Behavior Indicator: The measure of students with no reported discipline referrals that resulted in out-of-school suspension during the academic year.
Graduation Rate: The certified high school graduation rates for both the 4-year and 5-year adjusted cohorts.
