The Diagnostic Review process is organized around the West Virginia Standards for High Quality Schools and is conducted by the WVDE Office of Leadership & System Support. Diagnostic team members spend a full day at the school, using the Standards as a guide for discussions with staff, parents, and community members, and as a basis for classroom observations. Following the school visit, a detailed report is provided to the superintendent, principal, and school staff. The diagnostic visit and resulting report are the beginning of collaborative work between the school, district and the State System of Support team to improve student achievement in the school.
