The carpentry class at the Cabell County Career Technology Center, taught by Hugh Roberts, was recently selected for the Hometown Hero recognition by WSAZ NewsChannel 3 for their community service by helping build homes for those in need. They built two houses from the ground up in partnership with other volunteer community members. The students prefabricated some materials during the school year and then used them to build the homes at the work site. The students received career-level experience through this community outreach hands-on experience. To read more, click here.
