Our Teacher of the Week is Ms. Diana Aston. She has been teaching Special Education in Marshall County since August 1999. She decided to Special Education due to her own personal experience. “I wanted to work with special needs children since I have a disability and can relate,” said Aston. She loves the career path she has chosen. “I enjoy teaching and spending time with my students. I love seeing the sparks and smiles in their facial expressions when concepts clicked. I love to hear my students laugh as they are learning. I believe that teamwork makes students successful with the consultations, emails, and parents’ involvement. Teamwork assists with students’ learning with suggestions for accommodations for specific tasks and update on students’ progress. Teaching concepts and approach to learning is always changing to connect to the students’ learning experiences.”
