My teaching career began by teaching my dolls in my playroom in elementary school! During college, I interned at the West Virginia Center for Professional Development, where I helped organize teacher training sessions during the summer. I officially started my teaching career in 2016.

I have always felt it was my calling. My granddad was a teacher, and I have always adored school. Now that I have been an educator for six years, I know for a fact it is what I am meant to do.

My favorite aspect of teaching is getting to know my students, and then designing lessons and activities that will engage them and help them better understand mathematics. High school students are so much fun to work with and I enjoy watching them develop their thinking and interests.

I think the education system in West Virginia is made more successful by the opportunities provided to students through academics, athletics and other extra-curricular opportunities. All students can find something they enjoy.

I currently live in Morgantown with my husband and 2-year-old daughter Audrey. I enjoy reading, being outdoors and embroidery.
