(16 minutes) Justin is four years old. He was born at full gestation and experienced normal growth and development. At twenty-two months of age he developed pneumococcal meningitis that resulted in severe brain damage. Since that time he has very limited motor control, hearing loss, and vision loss due to CVI and optic nerve atrophy. He has seizure activity throughout each day. He has a ventricular peritoneal shunt due to hydrocephalus. Justin receives nourishment and medications through a gastrostomy tube due to poor gag and swallow reflex.
