Student Background:  Dustin is a seventeen-year-old student enrolled at the West Virginia Schools for the Deaf and Blind.  He has a diagnosis of high myopia and Cortical Visual Impairment as a result of an intracranial brain hemorrhage shortly after birth with associated seizures and hydrocephalus.

Video Description:  In the video, Dustin describes what he sees as well as the accommodations and modifications he uses to compensate for his visual impairment.  Teacher of the Visually Impaired and Orientation and Mobility Instructor, Jamie McBride, a West Virginia CVI Mentor, has Dustin demonstrate his visual abilities through a series of assessment activities which include student interview, various near and distant visual efficiency tasks related to the CVI Characteristics, and an outdoor Orientation and Mobility lesson.
