The West Virginia Department of Education’s (WVDE) annual Celebration of Excellence in Education honors exemplary educators and school service personnel who are in contention for the titles of West Virginia Teacher of the Year (TOY) and School Service Personnel of the Year (SPOY). As part of this year’s celebration, the WVDE will host 20 finalists – 10 TOY candidates and 10 SPOY candidates – who will be in attendance on-site. The WVDE will also recognize county winners joining remotely.
This year’s celebration is made possible through several sponsors including Toyota Motor Manufacturing, West Virginia; Highmark West Virginia; the West Virginia Lottery; Blenko Glass; the Horace Mann Insurance Companies; and Adams’ Hallmark Shop.
Supporting partners include the American Federation of Teachers-West Virginia; the West Virginia Education Association; West Virginia Professional Educators; the West Virginia PTA Association; the West Virginia School Service Personnel Association; and West Virginia State Parks.
