Annual WV MIC3 State Council and WV Common Ground Partnership Meeting

The WV Military Interstate Children’s Compact Commission requires that state councils meet annually. At the request of the West Virginia Compact Commissioner, Mr. Christopher Cmiel, the WVDE facilitates this meeting to align with the Common Ground Partnership’s annual meeting of stakeholders. Together these groups discuss ways to collaborate, ensuring that reasonable accommodations are made for military children transferring between public schools of compact member states and supporting the success of all students by sharing available resources, information, and providing guest speaker series school visits (which address topics that include drug prevention, anti-bullying, drop-out prevention, promoting literacy, graduation, career exploration, etc.).
