Supporting Student Success

Student success requires that all of us work together. The West Virginia Department of Education’s Ready, Read, Write literacy initiative, and the Unite with Numeracy mathematics initiative are two vital efforts to increase student proficiency. Each combines classroom learning, family involvement, and community and stakeholder support to help students achieve and succeed.

Ambassadors For Learning

Miss West Virginia USA 2023 Nevaeh Harmon and Miss West Virginia America 2023 Karrington Childress have partnered with the West Virginia Department of Education as Ambassadors for Learning to encourage families, students, educators, and others to promote the importance of mathematics and literacy. They are featured in a statewide campaign highlighting efforts to enhance student learning and success.
