ZoomWV is West Virginia’s new tool for organizing and reporting information stored in the West Virginia Education Information System (WVEIS). WVEIS, which has been used since 1990, is West Virginia’s state longitudinal data system (also called an SLDS). Secure WVEIS servers store education records and information from the time the data are entered by school personnel. ZoomWV uses the information already stored in WVEIS and makes it available—in secure, aggregate public reports—for better educational decision making.

Data for ZoomWV are pulled from WVEIS and stored in a secure data warehouse. The data in the warehouse are displayed through the dashboards and reports you see in ZoomWV.

ZoomWV users will have different levels of access to the information based on their roles and needs. Educators will have secure access to student-level data; the public will have access to aggregate or grouped information.
